Vestas Seals Five-Project Wind Deal With Spanish Utility

Vestas and Barcelona-based utility Gas Natural Fenosa have sealed an agreement to build 86 MW of wind energy across five new projects in Spain.

The order includes the V110-2.0 MW, V117-3.45 MW and V126-3.45 MW wind turbines to maximize energy output across different wind regimes, explains Vestas.

The wind farms will be Vestas’ first projects derived from Spain’s latest auctions, held in May. Commissioning and installation of the wind turbines are expected for the second half of 2018.

The renewables branch of Gas Natural Fenosa has installed more than 400 MW of Vestas’ turbines in Spain; the latest were installed in 2016.
