Turbine maker Vestas has received an order for 100 V100-2.0 MW turbines to power Xcel Energy's Courtenay wind power plant, located in Stutsman County, N.D.
The Courtenay project, originally developed by Minnesota-based Geronimo Energy, was purchased by Xcel Energy in April.
The order includes the supply and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a three-year service agreement, which delivers full-scope service to maximize turbine availability. Installation and commissioning of the turbines is expected in 2016.
