Vestas has appointed Eduardo Medina president of its Mediterranean sales business unit (SBU).
Medina, who is of Spanish nationality, previously served in leadership positions at Acciona Energy, General Electric Co., Enron Wind and, most recently, SunPower, where he served as executive vice president of global power plants.
Medina will be based at the SBU’s headquarters in Madrid. His role will begin on Jan. 2.
“The Mediterranean region covers a vast number of strategic markets in Southern Europe, Latin America and Africa, and Eduardo is – with his extensive experience from a diverse set of companies within renewables – the right person to take our Mediterranean region to the next level and continue our growth in mature and emerging markets,” says Juan Araluce, executive vice president and chief sales officer at Vestas.
With the appointment, Marco Graziano has left Vestas following a mutual agreement, the company says.
