To Drive Awareness, DWEA Proclaims June Small Wind Month

0

The Distributed Wind Energy Association (DWEA) has proclaimed June as Small Wind Month and will be participating in a series of community outreach events to educate the public and drive awareness to the attributes of distributed wind.

According to DWEA, Small Wind Month was created to showcase the growing number of homes, farms, schools and businesses using distributed wind energy as an energy resource. The association also cites a 2013 Gallup poll showing 71% of Americans want the U.S. to put more emphasis on producing domestic energy using wind power.

To mark the occasion, DWEA members and regional communities will be participating in a series of distributed and community wind events taking place across the U.S., such as the Distributed Wind Expo "13 on June 11- 12 in Rochester, N.Y., and the 9th Annual Small Wind Conference on June 18 – 19 in Stevens Point, Wis.
