Tekmar Energy has provided essential protection systems for the installation of 200 miles of 66 kV inter-array cables on Dogger Bank A.
The operation involved the laying of cables by DEME Offshore’s Viking Neptun and the completion of burial operations by the Living Stone. The network of 95 cables connects Dogger Bank A’s 95 Haliade-X 13 MW turbines to the offshore converter station. The electricity generated is then converted to direct current and transmitted to the onshore converter station via an HVDC system.
Tekmar Energy says the cable protection systems the company provided shielded the inter-array cables from physical damage.
“We are incredibly proud to support the Dogger Bank Wind Farm with our advanced cable protection systems,” says Marc Bell, managing director at Tekmar Energy. “This project showcases our commitment to innovation and excellence in the offshore wind sector. The successful completion of this phase is a testament to our strong partnership and collaborative effort.”
Tekmar Group’s business unit, RYDER, conducted the Orcaflex analysis and geotechnical design for the project.
