Skanska has signed the final award with SBMT Asset for the upgrade of the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, worth approximately $612 million.
The project, set to turn the terminal into a dedicated offshore wind port and support Empire Wind, will be included in the company’s U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of this year.
The company says the award will facilitate existing building demolition, dredging of new and existing berths, bulkhead upgrades and installation of new wharf and dock facilities. It also includes infrastructure improvements, new heavy lift crane pads and the construction of an offshore wind staging area
Project pre-construction began early last year, with construction activities covered by this award set to extend into 2026.
