Seattle City Light has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the long-term supply of renewable energy to be generated by projects located in the Pacific Northwest, as defined by Washington state's renewable portfolio standard. The utility intends to select one or more preferred proponents with which to enter into the negotiation of a power purchase agreement (PPA) and/or the acquisition of the environmental attributes associated with an eligible renewable resource.
Seattle City Light is targeting the acquisition of up to 200,000 MWh/year of energy, renewable energy credits (RECs), or a combination of energy and RECs, for a period of 15 years or longer. The utility will also consider proposals for equity ownership.
Eligible resources include any source of electrical energy, capacity and/or RECs that meets the requirements of Washington state's Energy Independence Act with a capacity of more than 2 MW.
Deadline: Oct. 20.
