Polimex Mostostal, GE Vernova Ink Baltica 2 Transmission Deal

The Polimex Mostostal and GE Vernova partnership, represented by GE Power in Poland, has signed a contract with PGE Group and Ørsted for the construction of onshore infrastructure facilitating power transmission from the Baltica 2 project. 

Onshore connection infrastructure for the Baltica 2 project will be built in Pomerania. Construction expected to begin later this year, is set to include a 275 kV high voltage substation and onshore export lines to transmit power to the National Electricity System. Testing and launch of the onshore instance is scheduled for 2026 and 2027.

“We are extremely proud to have been selected for this key project for Poland’s energy transformation and energy security,” says GE Vernova’s Johan Bindele. “Together with our consortium partner Polimex Mostostal, we are ready to bring our expertise and state-of-the-art technologies to Baltica 2 to ensure the effective integration of its energy into the National Power System.”
