Five additional Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG) gaming sites have switched to 100% green energy through Bullfrog Power, bringing the total to seven fully green-powered OLG facilities.
Casino Sault Ste. Marie and the OLG Slots at Georgian Downs, Mohawk Racetrack, Hanover Raceway and Clinton Raceway are the latest OLG casinos purchasing renewable electricity from wind or hydro facilities. The IT Data Systems center and Casino Brantford switched to 100% emissions-free electricity in January 2009.
The seven OLG facilities on green power will put over 26,000 MWh annually back onto the grid. OLG has committed to obtaining 90% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2014.
