Offshore Wind Consultants Setting Up Shop In Boston

Citing increased demand from U.S. wind developers, London-based Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC) is set to open its first U.S. office in Boston.

OWC, part of Aqualis SA, is an independent engineering consultancy focused on the development of offshore renewables technology and projects.

“The U.S. offshore wind market is now taking off. In the past year, OWC has undertaken a number of U.S. assignments, and we are receiving an increasing number of service requests from the U.S.,” explains John MacAskill, business development director at OWC. “Our clients are increasingly expecting a permanent presence from us, which allows us the opportunity to expand into Boston.”

OWC has been involved in several U.S. offshore wind projects to date, with the support of its sister company, Aqualis Offshore, at its Houston office. For example, Aqualis Offshore has provided geotechnical site investigation services for Ørsted’s proposed Ocean Wind project in New Jersey waters.

OWC has recruited Adrienne Fink, who will lead the new Boston-based team. Fink has worked as an environmental and regulatory consultant with over 20 years of experience in the U.S. energy sectors in the onshore, coastal and marine infrastructure markets.
