Houston-based Oceaneering International Inc. has been awarded a contract by US Wind Inc., a subsidiary of the Toto Holding Group, to conduct high-resolution marine geophysical survey services in support of US Wind’s proposed offshore wind project in Maryland.
The facility, to be located on the Maryland Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), comprises 16 OCS lease blocks extending about 25 miles offshore Ocean City, explains Oceaneering. The surveys are expected to start in the second half of 2018.
“We are delighted to play an active part in US Wind’s large-scale offshore wind power project,” comments Roderick A. Larson, president and CEO of Oceaneering. “We look forward to placing our teams to work locally in Maryland and applying our extensive offshore marine environment experience and very best technology, which will benefit the environment as well as the local economy and community.”
