Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) wind farm, located 15.5 kilometers off the coast of Fife, Scotland, is now generating power into the national grid.

When complete, the wind farm, owned by EDF Renewables U.K. and ESB, is set to consist of 54 wind turbines generating 450 MW.

“This is great for the project and is a positive step in achieving the country’s net zero targets,” says  Matthias Haag, NnG project director.

“We have worked closely with the local communities and we thank them for their patience as we’ve progressed towards this milestone. This is the beginning of a new chapter in the life story of NnG as we work to completion.”

NnG is working with local businesses, including Forth Ports at the Port of Dundee, I&H Brown, Briggs Marine and Muir Construction.

The project is expected to be completed and fully commissioned by next summer.
