Minnesota Power, a division of ALLETE Inc., has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from outside entities wishing to provide a portion of its future renewable electricity power requirements.

The RFP is specifically seeking up to 100 MW of wind generation that is deliverable to Minnesota Power's service territory prior to the expiration of the federal production tax credit on Dec. 31, 2012. Minnesota Power also intends to consider building its own renewable resource solution to meet its customers' needs.

Deadline: Jan. 5, 2011.
