New Mexico-based Mesalands Community College says it has reduced the technology fees associated with its Wind Energy Technology Program, beginning in the fall semester of this year.

Mesalands says the decision was made in order to make the program more affordable for students and to allow the college to continue to compete nationally with similar training programs.

Mesalands Community College offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree, a one-year Applied Science Certificate, and a one-semester Occupational Certificate in Wind Energy Technology.

The college says students in these programs will receive real-world training on the college's industrial-size 1.5 MW wind turbine, located adjacent to the North American Wind Research and Training Center.
