Masdar has signed an agreement with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Bapco Energies to jointly explore the development of and investment in 2 GW of wind projects in the kingdom.
The agreement for nearshore and offshore wind farms is the company’s first in the kingdom.
“As a global clean energy pioneer, Masdar will utilize its well-established expertise and track record in delivering wind energy projects globally, both onshore and offshore,” says Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Masdar CEO. “It is a privilege to be supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve its net zero ambitions and power a more sustainable future.”
Other regional Masdar renewable projects include the 400 MW Dumat Al Jandal wind farm in Saudi Arabia.
