Maryland Offers Two Offshore Wind Grants

0

The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is launching two new offshore wind grants.

The allotted funds include $1.6 million and $1.2 million for the fiscal year 2020 Maryland Offshore Wind Capex Program and Maryland Offshore Wind Workforce Training Program, respectively.

The workforce training program provides grant funding on a competitive basis to support Maryland’s workforce entering the offshore wind industry. Both new and existing workforce development training centers can apply.

The capex program provides grant funding on a competitive basis to help defray capital expenditure investments for Maryland’s emerging businesses, including minority-owned emerging businesses, entering the offshore wind industry. Both new or existing Maryland businesses engaged in the offshore wind industry can apply.

The application deadline for both grants is Oct. 1. More information can be found here.
