Students at the Camden Hills (Maine) Regional High School are among seven finalists at an international competition sponsored by auto manufacturer Volvo.
The students were recognized for their contributions in the deployment of a Northwind Power Systems' Northwind 100 kW wind turbine at the school. In fact, the students helped raise more than $500,000 to fund the project and acquire all of the permits and approvals necessary for turbine installation.
The winning project in the Volvo Adventure Awards, recognize projects that serve as solutions to an environmental problem receives $10,000.
