Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a subsidiary of Ørsted, has acquired a 103 MW, construction-ready wind project in South Dakota from Pattern Energy Group.
The project, located in Butte County, is expected to come online in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Combined with LCE’s Plum Creek wind farm in Nebraska, which is planned for construction in 2020, this latest acquisition further expands the company’s operations into the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market.
“The acquisition of this South Dakota wind farm adds to our growing portfolio of onshore wind assets and continues to broaden the geographic footprint of our asset base into the important SPP market,” comments Declan Flanagan, CEO of LCE.
U.S.-based LCE was acquired by Danish energy company Ørsted last year.
