Jan De Nul has signed a preferred supplier agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to install approximately 90 kilometers of subsea high-voltage export cables, bringing energy generated at the 500 MW Fengmiao I wind farm in Taiwan ashore.
The company is slated to connect the offshore substation of Fengmiao I to the onshore grid of Taiwan via two AC high-voltage cables by deploying its cable-laying vessel, Willem de Vlamingh. The scope of the company’s contract includes transport and installation of the cables, as well as protection of crossings with other cables.
The farm, part of the larger 1,800 MW Fengmiao wind project, is set to be the eighth wind farm in Taiwan the company has worked on.
