Google has signed PPAs for more than 700 MW of renewables, including its largest for offshore wind to date, with the Netherlands’ Hollandse Kust Noord V and Hollandse Kust (west) VI farms.
The company signed the PPAs with Shell and Eneco, owners of the Crosswind & Ecowende joint ventures, to support 478 MW of energy capacity with the Hollandse Kust farms. It estimates that, along with previous PPAs signed in the Netherlands, the projects will help company Dutch data centers and offices reach more than 90% renewable energy this year.
In Italy, Google also entered into its first long-term PPA supporting an onshore wind project with generating 47 MW of capacity energy company ERG. Following its first Poland PPA last year, the company has announced two additional agreements for 106 MW of solar with GoldenPeaks Capital.
