Wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has opened its first commercial office in Sri Lanka.
The office, located in the town of Katunayaka, will not only cater to customers' commercial needs but will also carry out project work and maintain the turbines installed locally, notes Gamesa.
The company, with 45.3 MW of installed capacity, is the country's leading original equipment manufacturer, with a market share of close to 40%.
Sri Lanka is expected to see installed wind capacity increase to 200 MW by 2017, driven by an energy policy that supports renewable energy.
