EDP Renewables North America LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of EDP Renováveis SA (EDPR), has secured four 15-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with three undisclosed commercial and industrial (C&I) entities.
EDPR is selling the energy produced from two wind farms totaling 405 MW. The projects, located in Illinois and Indiana, are expected to start operations in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
With the execution of these agreements, EDPR has now signed 2.1 GW of wind PPAs in the U.S., surpassing its goal of 1.8 GW of long-term wind energy agreements in the U.S. for projects to be installed in 2016-2020.
