DNV, a global provider of risk-management services to the wind industry, has obtained accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for power-quality testing on wind turbines.
The DNV Seattle office, which obtained the accreditation, now provides power-quality testing services to global customers, along with accredited power performance, acoustic and loads measurement services.
A2LA's accreditation for power quality testing of wind turbines is in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 per the IEC 61400-21 standard for wind turbines.
This new accredited service supplements the accredited wind turbine power performance, acoustic noise, and mechanical loads testing already being conducted and allows DNV to perform all of the testing required for type certification.
