This September, Bech-Bruun, a law firm based out of Denmark, is opening a New York office focused on advising wind power clients.
The firm says the new office will be an important station in Bech-Bruun’s international counseling services in the wind power industry. It is being established as part of a collaboration with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, which owns 50% of Massachusetts offshore wind developer Vineyard Wind.
”Danish experts are in increasing demand outside their own jurisdiction. We assist on some major wind turbine projects and see a growing demand in, for instance, the USA and in Asia for Danish industry specialists,” comments Simon Evers Kalsmose-Hjelmborg, managing partner at Bech-Bruun. “In many areas, local suppliers and experts are hard-pressed to match the level found on the Danish market. The office in New York is an important step for us towards strengthened advisory services and working relationships with our international clients – wherever a wind project would be located.”
The new office will initially be headed by Peter Østergaard Nielsen and Jakob Østervang, both partners at Bech-Bruun.
