France-based Bureau Veritas, a provider of testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services, including for the wind power industry, has named Craig Nicholson its power and utilities vice president for the company’s U.S. operations.

Based out of Atlanta, Nicholson joins the team as the company is growing its footprint in the power and utilities sector through targeted mergers and acquisitions, new product development, and capital investments.

A power industry veteran, Craig joins Bureau Veritas from GE and Alstom, where he spent more than 20 years progressing from lead gas turbine commissioning engineer to the general manager leading the thermal services rotating equipment business in Canada.

“Power, utilities and renewable energy are fast-growing segments for Bureau Veritas,” comments Natalia Shuman, Bureau Veritas’ executive vice-president and CEO of the North America commodities, industry and facilities operating group. “As a premier leader in TIC services, targeting this market is one of our top strategic growth initiatives in the U.S. and global businesses. Craig’s considerable change management expertise not only adds value but will help us accelerate our expansion goals for our power and utilities business in key markets across the U.S. all while making the world a safer place.”
