The city of Palo Alto, Calif., has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified firms to provide electric power generated by new renewable resources to meet the city's renewable portfolio needs.
The city seeks to contract for power for terms ranging from five years to 30 years from eligible renewable resources, which include wind, small hydroelectric (30 MW peak or less), geothermal, landfill gas, biomass, photovoltaic and solar thermal (with or without natural-gas assist).
The city seeks to contract for projects (or off-take shares of projects) yielding between 10 GWh and 75 GWh or electric output per year.
