California Authority Seeks Renewables

The California Department of Water Resources (CDWR) is soliciting a request for proposals (RFP) for renewable energy and capacity, including attributes used to qualify for resource adequacy and all associated environmental attributes, including renewable energy credits from wind facilities through one or more power purchase agreements (PPAs).

The CDWR says the delivery period will be a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years, with delivery commencing no later than April 1, 2013.

Proposals must be based on facilities (or proposed share of facilities) with a capacity of at least 5 MW. The minimum annual amount is 15 GWh per PPA, and the maximum annual amount is 72 GWh per PPA.

There will be a pre-conference meeting on Dec. 13. Proposals are due Jan. 27, 2011.
