Ameren Missouri Moves Forward On 400 MW Wind Plan

On Wednesday, the Missouri Public Service Commission voted unanimously to grant Ameren Missouri, a subsidiary of Ameren Corp., a certificate of convenience and necessity to acquire, after construction, a 400 MW project that is slated to be the largest-ever wind facility in Missouri.

The project is proposed in Schuyler and Adair counties in northeast Missouri. The facility, to be built by an affiliate of Terra-Gen LLC, must still obtain a “timely and acceptable” Midcontinent Independent System Operator transmission interconnection agreement, notes Ameren.

“This is an important next step in the process to develop more renewable energy in the state for the long-term benefit of our customers,” says Michael Moehn, president of Ameren Missouri.

Ameren Missouri also recently announced an agreement to acquire a future 157 MW wind farm in northwest Missouri.
