Finland-based Vaisala, a provider of environmental measurement and monitoring solutions for the renewable energy industry, has appointed Alexis Crama vice president – weather and environment.
Crama was most recently the global head of strategy and growth initiatives at GE Renewable Energy. In that role, he spearheaded efforts to expand the multinational firm’s onshore and offshore wind, hydro, hybrid solutions, battery storage and smart grid businesses, including a strong M&A focus.
Prior to his position at GE, Crama served as vice president of LM Wind Power, where he built and scaled-up the global supplier of wind turbine blades into the offshore business. He also worked in corporate strategy, industrial development and sales and operations planning.
Crama brings a unique perspective and deep experience in the renewable energy industry to help Vaisala further support the global clean energy transition.
Vaisala is one of the only companies of its kind to offer a comprehensive suite of renewable energy measurement solutions, including WindCube wind lidars, real-time lightning and weather data, and weather sensors and systems.
With Crama’s expertise, Vaisala will continue building measurement, monitoring and forecasting solutions that advance the solar, wind, grid power and battery storage industries — and unlock the planet’s clean energy potential.
