Alabama Power has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for renewable power resources.
The company is seeking power generated through the use of renewable fuel resources such as wind, solar, low-impact hydro, biomass, landfill gas and other renewable sources. In addition, the company will seek offers of renewable energy certificates (RECs), as well as carbon allowances (CAs) that are certified by a recognized authorizing group.
Alabama Power prefers a contract term of five, 10 or 15 years, but will consider bids of any duration. There is a bidder's fee of $500 to help defray administrative costs. All renewable power resources, RECs and CAs must satisfy the criteria of the Green-e Energy National Standard for Renewable Electricity Products, Gold Standard, the Climate Registry or another source approved by the company.
Deadline: July 24.
