ABB says it has completed the acquisition of automation and control technologies provider Powercorp.
According to ABB, the acquisition will provide the company with expertise in integrating renewable energy into conventional micro and remote island grids.
Powercorp's portfolio includes automation and control technologies to manage the integration of renewable energy into isolated grids and keep generation in balance with consumption. The company also supplies systems that dynamically store and release energy in response to frequency and voltage deviations in order to stabilize small or remote grids.
