innogy consulting, an energy-focused management consulting firm with operations in North America, Europe and the Middle East, is expanding its presence in the U.S.
Dr. Glenn George, an advisor to the global energy and utility sectors, has been named a founding partner of the firm’s U.S. subsidiary. He will be based in innogy consulting’s Boston office, providing support to clients in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere.
The company first entered the U.S. market in late 2017. The firm says it is bringing its experience in Europe to U.S. utilities needing to innovate and adapt in the changing energy landscape. Its portfolio comprises large-scale strategy assignments for grid and infrastructure, retail, and renewable energy clients.
Dr. Klaus Grellman, managing director of innogy consulting, says, “The U.S. energy market is the largest and most dynamic in the world. Strengthening our presence in North America is central to innogy consulting’s strategy for future growth. Glenn’s joining the firm is an important milestone in strengthening our presence in the U.S.”
George previously served as a managing director with NERA Economic Consulting, part of the Oliver Wyman Group; a partner in the advisory practice of KPMG; and co-head of the global energy group at Nomura Securities. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cornell University and a PhD from Harvard University.
“I’m delighted to join innogy consulting as the first founding partner in the United States,” says George. “It’s the culmination of three decades of work in the global energy sector, some two-thirds of which I’ve spent as a consultant to the industry across the entire value chain.”
