Siemens has secured an order from U.K.-based Blue Energy for the Blackcraig Hill wind project in Scotland.
The 53 MW project, located in the Scottish council area Dumfries and Galloway, will feature 23 of Siemens’ SWT-2.3-93 wind turbines. The contract also includes a 20-year service agreement. Commissioning is scheduled for spring 2017.
Siemens notes this is the second project on which the company teamed up with Blue Energy: The partners completed the 21 MW Middlewick project on the Dengie peninsula in 2014.
