Nordex Nets Turbine Orders For Three Wind Farms In Turkey

The Nordex Group, which has installed approximately 20 GW of wind energy capacity in over 25 markets, says it has received three new orders from its regular customer Eksim Yatirim in Turkey.

Per the orders, Nordex will be installing a total of 37 N117/3000 turbines as part of the extension of the “Amasya,” “Tokat” and “Susurluk” wind farms, sited in the Black Sea region, in the north of Turkey, and in Marmara, in the northwest of the country.

The Eksim Group says it has been realizing renewable energy projects for around a decade, focusing on wind and hydroelectric power. To date, the company has installed renewable energy projects in Turkey that have a capacity of 540 MW, with wind energy accounting for the larger part – namely, 380 MW. Nordex notes that it installed more than half of Eksim’s wind farms, totaling 235 MW.

According to the company, Nordex set up the previous construction phase between 2010 and 2013, mainly using the N100/2500, the forerunner of the N117/3000, which enabled the customer to obtain good yields on the basis of capacity factors of up to 38%. Nordex says the N117/3000 will outdo even these yields thanks to its optimized and more modern technology.

“Eksim Investment Holding’s [full] engagement in [the] renewable energy sector will increase its pace with consecutive investments. The newly signed contracts using new-generation, high-efficient Nordex wind turbines will enable us to achieve maximum performance from our wind parks,” says Sabahattin Er, managing director of Eksim Investment Holding.
