Ohio Suspends Hearing Schedule For Seneca Wind Farm

The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has suspended the hearings scheduled in the Seneca Wind Farm case.

On April 4, Seneca Wind LLC and the OPSB staff filed a joint motion to suspend the hearing schedule to allow additional time for Seneca Wind to provide information required for the staff to complete its report of investigation.

sPower’s proposed Seneca Wind Farm would be situated on approximately 56,900 acres of leased private land in Scipio, Reed, Venice, Eden and Bloom townships in Seneca County. The facility would consist of up to 77 wind turbines with a total generating capacity of up to 212 MW. Late last year, sPower opened an office in Seneca County to serve as a resource for information on the proposed wind farm.

The canceled hearings include a local public hearing previously set for April 23 in Tiffin and an evidentiary hearing set to begin on May 16 in Columbus. The OPSB will establish a new hearing schedule at a later date.
