Green Oceans, a grassroots nonprofit focused on oceans and marine ecosystems, has filed a new Motion for Stay in the U.S. District Court for D.C., seeking to stop construction of the Revolution Wind offshore project.
The motion alleges that the project’s required Biological Opinion, filed on April 30, fails to protect endangered species.
“The new Biological Opinion still falls short,” says Dr. Lisa Quattrocki Knight, president and co-founder of Green Oceans.
“We ask the court to halt the construction of Revolution Wind until the project fully complies with our environmental laws. Development on the ecologically sensitive marine habitat of Coxes Ledge requires a level of careful consideration that has not yet been deployed.”
