Norway's WindSim AS has launched WindSim AMERICAS Inc. to meet the increased demand for its software solutions and professional services for the wind energy industry.

According to WindSim, the company pioneered the application of computational fluid dynamics to optimize wind turbine placement and has helped its customers meet the challenges of wind farm design and wind resource assessment for more than 10 years.

Software industry veteran Robert D. Buckley will lead WindSim AMERICAS, as its president and as a member of the board, from its Boston headquarters. The new company will manage all existing partner and customer relationships in North America, Latin America and South America, and foresees strong growth in these regions.

‘We are delighted to have someone of Bob's caliber on board,’ says Arne Reidar Gravdahl, WindSim's founder. ‘He brings more than 25 years of software sales, marketing and general management experience to WindSim. His skill set maps perfectly to what we sought to help us meet the challenges of our rapid growth.’

Buckley will focus on soliciting customer input, establishing strategic alliances, and building a customer-driven field organization as WindSim AMERICAS continues to ramp up. He will also lead the company's expanded marketing efforts and implement programs that strengthen WindSim's global brand.
