Wind Turbines Commissioned At Upper Scioto Valley Schools In Ohio

A wind project developed by NexGen Energy Partners LLC was recently commissioned at the Upper Scioto Valley Schools in McGuffey, Ohio. The school district held a public reception to mark the occasion, which also included the opening of the school's Wind/Energy Academy.

‘This is a great example of how fast distributed clean energy projects can be built when everyone works together,’ says John Brown, president of NexGen Energy Partners.

The two 100 kW wind turbines were designed and manufactured by Northern Power Systems of Barre, Vt. The turbines are expected to provide up to one-third of the electricity for the school's Wind/Energy Academy and its green lab facility, designed to be a living laboratory for renewable energy.

The purpose of the lab is to give students and residents hands-on exposure to alternative energy solutions and realistic career opportunities the students will have access to when they enter the job force in the near future.
