Wind Farm Expansion To Include REpower’s 6 MW Turbines

REpower Systems SE and RWE Innogy have concluded a contract for the delivery of two REpower 6.15 MW wind turbines, which will be installed at the Westereems wind farm, located near Eemshaven in the Dutch province of Gronigen.

With a current installed power capacity of 156 MW, Westereems is already the largest wind farm in the Netherlands and will now be extended with a further 12.3 MW, according to REpower.

The contract includes the manufacture, construction and delivery of the wind turbines. Completion of the 12.3 MW expansion is expected in 2012.
