Wind Energy Powers Cleveland Cavaliers Game

Renewable energy credits (RECs) generated by the Meyersdale wind facility in Somerset County, Pa., offset the electricity used during the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game at Quicken Loans Arena on April 10.

Forty RECs were donated by FirstEnergy Solutions, a provider of electric generation supply serving more than 1.5 million residential and small-business customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Michigan and Illinois.

‘FirstEnergy Solutions is pleased to donate these renewable energy credits to Quicken Loans Arena and the Cleveland Cavaliers for tonight's game, helping to support the further development of renewable energy,’ says Dave Hennekes, vice president of retail marketing at FirstEnergy Solutions.
