Wind Blade Plant Breaks Ground In Little Rock

0

Wind turbine blade manufacturer LM Glasfiber, based in Denmark, has announced the ground breaking of its new blade factory in Little Rock, Ark. It is LM Glasfiber's third blade manufacturing facility in North America and its 11th worldwide.

The plant is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2008. The Little Rock plant will effectively double the capacity of the existing factories in Grand Forks, N.D., and Gaspé, Quebec.

Little Rock is ideally located to serve some of the areas that are seeing the highest growth in wind power development in the U.S., according to the company. To accommodate strong demand, LM Glasfiber says it will begin supplying the first blades from Little Rock from a temporary facility in a few months.
