Welwind Secures Additional Acreage For Wind Project

0

San Diego-based Welwind Energy International Corp. has secured an additional 1,400 acres of private land for its Peace Region wind project in British Columbia. The company is seeking private land to minimize the environmental process and high costs associated with development on Crown land.

The additional acreage brings the total amount of land to be secured to 6,080 acres – enough to build the first phase of the approximately 100 MW wind project.

The site is located near Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Most of the project will be situated on private cultivated land.
