Escondido, Calif.-based enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles company, and MidAmerican Energy Co. (MEC) say the Walnut Wind Farm in Pottawattamie County, Iowa has been commissioned.
enXco Development Corp. began construction of the project. MEC and enXco agreed last fall to expand the project from 100.5 MW to the current 153 MW. The project, owned by MEC, represents the fifth project built for the group, for a total of 595 MW.
enXco Service Corp. will provide operations and maintenance for the turbines and balance-of-plant equipment, as well as provide 24/7 remote monitoring and fault resets from their operations control center in Chandler, Minn.
