Vestas says it has secured 533 MW worth of 10-year service agreements with International Power Canada.
The service agreements, which cover 276 wind turbines at eight power plants in Canada, include 335 MW for existing wind power plants in New Brunswick, Ontario and Prince Edward Island, as well as 198 MW for two projects in Ontario that will be finished in 2013.
The contracts include Vestas' Active Output Management 4000 service option, which consists of guaranteed availability, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and the replacement of major components and spare parts. It also includes a surveillance system called VestasOnline, which allows Vestas to monitor and remotely control the turbines.
By the end of this year, Vestas will have completed four new wind projects comprising 308 MW in Canada. Six additional Canadian projects using Vestas turbines, which total 419 MW, will be constructed in 2013.
