Vestas has received two firm and unconditional orders totaling 162 MW for an undisclosed U.S. customer.

Both orders include the supply and commissioning of V110-2.0 MW turbines, as well as Active Output Management 5000 service agreements.

For one of the orders, some of the turbines will be delivered in the 2.2 MW power-optimized mode. The customer and Vestas customized a site-specific product mix that extracts the maximum wind resource output.

“The V110-2.0 MW is our flagship turbine platform in the United States, and the versatility of site-specific power-mode combinations unlocks the potential of the wind conditions and increases site output,” says Chris Brown, president of Vestas’ sales and service division in the U.S. and Canada.

Turbine nacelles, blades and towers will be produced at Vestas’ Colorado factories. Delivery will begin in the third quarter of 2017.
