Vestas has received an order for 51 units of the V80-2.0 MW wind turbine for the Oaxaca I project in Mexico. The order includes supply, installation and commissioning of the 51 wind turbines, as well as a 10-year service contract. The project is expected completed by December 2010.
The order has been placed by Dragados Proyectos Industriales de Mexico S.A. de C.V. Mexico has a wind capacity of more than 5 GW and had a cumulative installed capacity of 332 MW as of December 2008. The country's goal is to install 1,500 MW by 2022.
