Ventyx, a software provider to the energy and utility industry based in Atlanta, and Bolder Geographics, based in Boulder, Colo., have released the 2008 Renewable Energy Map of Canada. This highly detailed map shows renewable resources and development of renewable energy across Canada.
The map is full color and shows landforms and detailed wind speed measurements at a scale of 1:3.45 million. Overlaid on this imagery are the following key features:
– operating and planned renewable power plants, shown by energy source and capacity, labeled with operating company and plant name,
– more than 65,000 miles of existing and proposed transmission lines signified by voltage, identifying grid connections and their connection to load centers,
– existing and proposed substation locations for identifying grid connections and their connection to load centers, and
– insets showing the status of provincial renewable portfolio standards, as well as total provincial installed and planned renewable capacity by energy source.
