Ventower Industries held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to mark the opening of its 115,000 square-foot wind turbine tower manufacturing facility located at the Port of Monroe in Michigan.
Ventower is a full-service fabricator and supplier of utility-scale wind turbine towers. Focused on original equipment manufacturers, the company plans to provide wind towers for onshore and offshore applications to customers throughout the Great Lakes and Atlantic regions by using waterborne, rail and truck transportation options.
‘Our commitments to domestic manufacturing, job creation and renewable energy have all been important drivers during our initial efforts here in Michigan,’ says James Viciana, board chairman of Ventower. ‘Moving forward, Ventower will embrace the new green economy while utilizing advanced fabrication techniques and processes at our-state-of-the-art facility.’
Ventower plans to begin production later this month for tower deliveries through the end of this year and during 2012.
