Spanish utility and wind power developer Iberdrola Renewables has brought three new wind farms online in the U.S. with a combined capacity of 168.5 MW.
The Providence Heights project is located in Bureau County, Ill., and has a capacity of 72 MW from 36 Gamesa G87 2 MW wind turbines. Winnebago I is in Winnebago County, Iowa, with 10 G83 2 MW wind turbines, adding up 20 MW, and Klondike IIIA in Sherman County, Ore. with 51 GE wind turbines consisting of 1.5 MW nameplate capacity.
According to the utility, the installation of these wind farms will enable Iberdrola Renewables to reinforce its presence in the U.S., a key country for its growth plans.
