Mesa Power Group LLC, a Texas-based renewable energy development company created by T. Boone Pickens, is partnering with Wind Tex Energy LP on the Stephens Bor-Lynn Wind Project, which will be located about 50 miles south of Lubbock, Texas.

The 377 MW wind farm will consist of 233 GE 1.6 MW wind turbines. The companies plan to complete the development and obtain project financing in the second half of this year, and commercial operation is expected to begin in 2013.

SBL has executed an interconnection agreement with Wind Energy Transmission Texas, and will interconnect to a competitive renewable energy zone (CREZ) line that will be completed in early 2013. This interconnection agreement is the first such agreement executed that has a wind resource connecting to an Electric Reliability Council of Texas CREZ line, according to Mesa Power.

Dallas-based Mesa Power is currently developing more than 1 GW worth of wind projects in Minnesota, Texas and Canada.
